Our Pastor

Beginnings (before ministry)

Loren Faul was born in Harvey, North Dakota, as the oldest of five kids. His family moved to Crookston, Minnesota, when he was eight years old. He lived there until high school graduation. Loren trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior at age ten at Calvary Baptist Church in Crookston, MN. His Sunday school teacher made it a practice to talk individually to each of her students with the purpose of making sure each one understood the plan of salvation and had been given the opportunity to trust Jesus Christ personally as their Savior. Loren responded by putting his faith in Jesus for eternal life.

Pastor (Rev) Lorena dn Sue Faul

Loren was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ at Minnesota State University Moorhead during his last two years of undergraduate studies. The ministry of discipleship became a reality in his life, both as a follower and then as a student leader. His passion was kindled for future ministry training. Confirmation came the first year after graduation from the university (BA in Accounting--1976) while he was directing the Here's Life America campaign of evangelism in the Fargo-Moorhead area. During this time, he was privileged to work with pastors from various evangelical churches. One pastor in particular befriended him and mentored him over a six-month period. Because of this mentor's encouragement, Loren applied to study in seminary to prepare for pastoral ministry.

Ministry Preparation

Loren completed liberal arts studies at Dallas Bible College (1978), earned a Master of Theology (Missions Concentration) from Dallas Theological Seminary (1983), and completed Spanish language training at Rio Grande Bible Institute (1984) in preparation for his overseas missionary ministry.

Ministry Experience

Loren accepted the call to be the pastor of Trinity Bible Church at River Oaks in June of 2009. Before coming to Trinity, Loren served the Lord as an adjunct professor of Biblical Studies, Missions, and Cross-Cultural courses at LeTourneau University, since 2006. He and Sue served as missionaries with CrossWorld (formerly UFM International) in the Dominican Republic for more than 17 years, between 1984 and 2008. Loren also came to Trinity with more than five years of pastoral experience serving in evangelical churches in the United States.

Loren has been married to his wife, Susan, since 1976. They have three grown children: Jared, Joel,
and Jenna. All three have graduated from LeTourneau University. Jared married Kimberly in 2008, and Joel married Michal in 2010.
